Ship Model NINA
Nina was one of the caravels of Christopher Columbus with whom he made an expedition to the West Indies and discovered America by mistake.
In August 1492, he launched the expedition with three caravels: Santa Maria, Nina and Pinta from the port of Palos de la Frontera, located on the south-west coast of Spain.
At the end of two months, the sailors saw the coast on October 12, 1492.
Columbus thought he had joined the Indies.
The exact shape and dimensions of the boat are not known.
According to the documents kept, Nina reached a length of about 20 meters.
The box of the model contains all the laser-cut wooden parts, the fittings in wood, metal and plastic (according to model), the fabrics for the sails, the plans and the instructions of construction.
